This is an ideal opportunity for graduate and early career physiotherapists looking to further develop their clinical skills within a dynamic, academically integrated hospital setting. Both positions include weekday and weekend rostered shifts.

About the Role

Macquarie University Health is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Physiotherapists to join our Inpatient Services team. You will deliver evidence-based physiotherapy services across a broad range of acute hospital areas, including:

  • ICU and Surgical HDU
  • Orthopaedic services
  • Neurological wards
  • General surgical and medical wards

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding to and managing physiotherapy referrals from hospital medical and allied health teams
  • Delivering coordinated, high-quality physiotherapy services aligned with Macquarie University Health's vision
  • Collaborating with medical, nursing and allied health staff to optimise patient outcomes
  • Preparing comprehensive clinical reports for referring practitioners
  • Supporting teaching, supervision and research initiatives in collaboration with Macquarie University's Department of Health Professions (Physiotherapy)
  • Participating in quality improvement and risk management activities
  • Promoting continuity of physiotherapy care across healthcare settings

About You

You are a passionate, patient-focused physiotherapist committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care. You thrive in a multidisciplinary environment and are eager to contribute to an innovative clinical service within a supportive, academically integrated team.

Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy and general registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Experience (or strong interest) in acute hospital physiotherapy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to supervision, education and training
  • Knowledge of patient-centred, evidence-based practice
  • Effective workload management skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
  • Creativity and initiative in service development, aligned with Macquarie University Health's Mission, Vision and Values
